Don’t let your audience FALL away: Social Media Tips for the Autumn Season.

Written By: Cecilia Fay

As the summer comes to an end, planning  for fall content begins! Making sure your social media is ready for pumpkin season will make your life much easier by giving you a good stockpile to draw from. To keep your customers engaged throughout the autumn season, here are my three tips for fall.

Utilize fall events and important dates

Fall is filled with tons of fun seasonal activities, such as getting back to school, football, and plenty of local events and festivals. Use this to your advantage and make sure your audience is up to date on all the exciting opportunities available in your area!  You can spotlight different pumpkin patches in your area or the best place to pick apples. Keep it lively and relevant to make your fall posts pop.

Update your content bank

Fall brings cooler temperatures and warmer tones in the world around us. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to let your content reflect the season. It may be hard to take photos in sweaters and long pants when it is still warm out, but update your photos and videos as much as possible. You can also delete or move any summer-based content to a separate folder or drive. Cleaning up and updating your content will benefit your platforms. When you have up-to-date content ahead of time, it will also make things easier for you.

Plan ahead for fall holidays

Update your content calendars by preparing  for all the delightful fall holidays. Halloween and Thanksgiving are the two of the most celebrated and well-known of the autumn festivities, but don’t forget about Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, and Black Friday. If you are a retail-based business, make sure your social media team knows about all the upcoming sales and promotions. By planning ahead for holidays and promotions, your content can be well thought out and it will save you stress in the long run.

As always, make sure you have a content calendar system in place and stay up to date with everything happening in the Autumn season. Happy Fall, Y’all!
