Martha Park

Storyteller

Before joining Campfire Collective, Martha worked in communications in higher education and nonprofits for more than six years. With a MFA in creative writing from Hollins University, she brings a varied background in teaching, creative writing, and freelance journalism to the team.

Martha enjoys the collaborative element of her job as a Storyteller at Campfire Collective. Her previous positions have always functioned fairly independently, and Martha loves supporting the larger Campfire team by editing team members’ blog posts, writing for clients, and contributing to the larger Campfire story.

She also loves the novelty of copywriting. Creating a blog post for a company can lead her down any number of rabbit holes, and Martha loves that every day is something new. Her primary goal for her clients is to craft clear, engaging writing that reflects clients’ distinct personalities.

Martha is a freelance writer and illustrator, so when she’s not working for Campfire she is usually writing or drawing. Martha and her husband, Colin, spend a lot of time walking around their neighborhood near the University of Memphis with their energetic little boy and their two dogs who grow more ornery and geriatric by the day.

Fun fact: Martha and Colin moved to Memphis from Virginia, where they met in graduate school, in order to be closer to Martha’s family. They ended up buying a house next door to her parents and one house over from her sister and brother-in-law, and they call their conjoined properties “the compound.”
