Video Content Tips for Warm Months

Written By: Cecilia Fay

Spring is almost here and the flowers are starting to bloom. Along with a welcome change in temperature, the season is associated with rebirth and new beginnings. Whether it's through TikTok videos, Instagram reels, or other video content, it is important to refresh your content strategies for the spring and summer.

Engage with nature

The weather is warm and the sun is shining. Head outside to capture content. Whether it's at a local park, in your backyard, or on a restaurant patio, take advantage of the natural lighting and colorful tones that are outside. This can be a reel about working remotely outside or a photo carousel featuring products with trees or flowers in the background. When it comes to using mother nature for content, the sky's the limit.

Be mindful of your outfit colors

When taking photos or videos, ensure your outfit colors and style reflect the current season. Bright colors pop in spring and warmer pieces should go back in the closet. Dress for the season and you’ll be ready to bloom on camera.

Play with cheerful sounds and filters

Spring is a positive time and is known for new beginnings. Positivity must be reflected both visually and audibly. When creating video content, check in on new and trending sounds, but make sure they reflect the positive time that is spring! Filters can be fun and change the way audiences will perceive your content. Consider enhanced filters rather than black and white or filters with lower tones.

Use spring and summer events, holidays, and promotions.

Events and promotions are common during this time of year, along with several holidays that happen between March and June. Creating content for local events and sharing more information about them is a great way to engage your audience in the local community and draws in an audience not only to your event but also to your social media channels.

Out with the old and in with the new

“Spring cleaning” is the phrase we know and love.  Apply it to your content too! Spend a little  time going through old content on your phone, laptop, or drive if you have a lot of files. Saving space will help you create better content in the long run. You’ll have  room for all the fantastic new ideas that you will create in the next few months.

The spring season is a great time to create relevant content for social media. Through nature, bright style and cheerful sounds, you can hack the algorithm and raise your social media stats. Happy Filming!
