The Best Video Content Apps Available Right Now

By: Cecilia Fay

The rise of TikTok in 2020 led to an opportunity for start-ups and app developers to conquer the market with new apps designed to make editing video content easier. Three years later, you’ll find  plenty of apps on the market that not only help with TikTok content, but Instagram and Facebook too. You can explore and experiment to find the right one for your needs, but to get you started, here are my favorite apps to use for video content. All have free and paid versions.

Capcut

Capcut has versatile uses as you can create and edit videos for almost every platform. When uploading content, it automatically crops the video for the platform you need. It also has an amazing audio feature that allows you to  add songs and sound effects to the background of your video. This comes in handy especially for Instagram, where it can be hard to find good songs for posting reels. The app is super user-friendly and even has a desktop option for easy editing on a laptop or computer.

Canva

Canva is great for social media graphics, business cards, brochures and to do lists, but did you know you can upload videos to make super simple reels and TikTok vidoes? With thousands of templates to choose from, Canva takes the hassle out of video editing and content browsing. You can also add transitions, graphics, and more when using Canva.

Veed

Veed works very well  for longer and more detailed video content. It has an app and a web version so you are able to edit from virtually anywhere. Veed has a lot of stock files available to use if you do not have your own pictures or videos. The editing tools and template selections are very broad so you don’t have to build from scratch if you don’t want to! Veed is a good tool for video editing beginners who may want to use their video content for more than social media.

Inshot

Inshot is a great app for quick and easy editing, with a number of features that allow you to add transitions, graphics, and more. Inshot can easily build slideshows and videos from images on your phone. On top of the video editing capabilities, Inshot also has a super simple photo editor so you can clean up or change your photo content as well. Similar to Capcut, Inshot has a music and sound effect feature you can use for your Instagram reel content.

i-Movie

While i-Movie existed before TikTok, it has grown into an effective tool for TikTok- based content. New features include  Magic Movie, which allows you to add video clips or photos; the app will create a video complete with transitions and edits. The only downside is this app is not available for non-iphone users.

Creating video content does not have to be complicated. These apps make it easy, fun and efficient. Next time you find yourself struggling to create the right video, check out one of these apps. Happy Editing!
